It's like just yesterday she was only 3

Riley turned 4 yesterday I can't believe it. She is getting so big! We baked cupcakes together. I took one lick of that batter and felt sick. She must have eaten the whole thing.

Uncle Greg, Auntie Lauren, GaGa and Pop Pop came over for dinner and cake. Riley got a little too close to the candles and burned her lip while blowing them out. I think she was too embarrassed to admit it actually hurt.

It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Christmas!

Nothing makes me feel more in the Christmas spirit than being at my in-laws. Everywhere you look there is somthing Chritsmasy. I mean every corner, every nook, every shelf, every wall. I love it! Not to mention the Christmas room (which stays up all year long) with PopPop's train set and Christmas Village. I wish pictures could do it justice!I think Riley will always remember being at her GaGa and PopPop's house for Christmas.

Our New House

Finally, pictures of our new house. These are just some pics of the inside. I suppose a professional would not have left the big load of laundry at the bottom of the stairs for the picture huh? That is my Mom in the pics too!! I do love this house. I am so happy to be settled! Please come visit!!!!

Winter Wonderland!

Riley and I got to play in the snow for a little while before it turned to rain. We didn't quite get enough for sledding, but we had fun throwing snowballs to the dogs. They couldn't understand why they couldn't find the "ball" after it hit the ground. It is raining outside right now. I can't think of anything worse than a cold rain in the winter. I would much rather it snow. They are calling for snow on Christmas Eve. We'll see......

Finally!

We are in the new house. I will post pictures soon. I have been such a slacker. I like to think it is because I did not have my computer for a while, but that really isn't it. I have been unpacking like crazy though which I HATE! My mom has been here for 2 weeks and goes back on Staurday. I am so sad. She has been a Godsend. She helps with Riley, cooks, cleans and does laundry!! I also thought it would be fun to have everyone (14 people) over for Christmas dinner. What was I thinking? I guess it motivated me to get the house in order, but now I have to cook. I am not that domestic. Oh well, at least its just family.
Merrry Christmas everyone! Check back for pics of the house.

Finally....but not quite!

We were supposed to close on our new house this Monday, November 24. Jeff and I have been counting down the days. Of course, even though I kept telling everyone it wouldn't happen to us.......they have to postpone the closing. Our carpet is coming in late, and they can't so inspections. Soooooo, we are not moving in before Thanksgiving. We have plans to go down to Charlotte and retrieve all of our stuff over the turkey day weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed, that we can be in the house (with carpeting) by the time we get back. Otherwise, the movers are going to have to drop everything on the front lawn. Other than this fiasco, we are all doing very well. It is so cold up here already. They are calling for snow this week! I don't know what I am going to do for the next 4 months or so. I may never go outside! Anyway, here are some new pics of Rileyreading to her fish Bob.

Yummy!

Riley made some delicious cupcakes with GaGa.

Oh yeah, we bought a house. We close on November 24! A little stressful, but yay!!!

Best Birthday Ever!

I had the best birthday. It started with a playgroup at the park with some of my oldest and dearest friends. Last time we saw each other, we were still up at 9:00 AM from the night before. Now, we had coffee, doughnuts and kids in tow. Then, after lunch we went to what used to be Hebert Candy Mansion for make your own Sundaes. That was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. I had to force Riley to put more toppings on her ice cream. "C'mon what do you mean you don't want marshmallow?" Next we went apple picking. Some of the apples were badly dmaged because of the alleged "hail storm", but we still managed to bring home a heaping bushell. After apples, we headed to a really cool Animal Farm. Riley got to feed goats, cows, and sheep. She even got to bottle feed a 2 week old cow. To top off the evening we enjoyed dinner at my favorite seafood place and drank a lot of Sam Adams while catching up with friends. (this time no kids) The only thing missing was Jeff. He had to work.

Big Day of Firsts!

On Wednesday Riley started her first day of school and her first day of ballet. School is in the afternoons which is a little strange, but that is usually the hardest part of the day for us to fill, so maybe it will work out. Anyway, she loved both. Her teachers are very nice, and it was so good for her to get to play with some kids. I think she is kind of tired of playing with me all day.

Sad Day for Pats Fans!

As many of you know Tom Brady hurt his knee and is out for the season. Ugh! We took Riley to this beatiful park before going to watch the game on Sunday. This park has got to be why they call it the Garden State. It was so green! Anyway, in these pics we are still looking ahead to another Super Bowl. We'll see......

Help me!

I can not get off of facebook. I am addicted. I have been so lazy about posting here because of that time sucker. Anyway, we found a house that we both love. That is the good news, our Charlotte house is still not sold. That is the bad news. Please keep praying for us!

We made it!

Well, we have been checking out some houses while desperately praying that our Charlotte house sells. We had a pipe burst under our driveway which is a nightmare. I know one of you HO girls is responsible! I told you that sabotage will not make us stay. Things here are going well. I have already seen my parents twice which is great. Jeff is busy at work and Riley and I are trying to find ways to kep us busy at home. I signed her up for dance today, and boy is she excited. She couldn't understand that we were just there to sign her up today. She wanted to dance "now". We did come home and immediately put her leotard and tights on. Too cute! I will get a picture of her tomorrow as I am sure it will be the first thing we put on in the morning. Anyway, we miss everyone in Charlotte and look forward to spending more time with those of you up North!
